I'm Jey, and I'm a Pop Artist from Montreal. I started #ShowYourLove, after writing and recording my debut record which was based on a reflection of the last 15 years of my life, and how much I've changed and turned my life around. The record is called "Where I'm Supposed To Be", because I believe everything I've been through has shaped who I am today.
I know first hand what it's like to go through tough times. I've been a victim of domestic violence, and suffered through depression for 10 years. I only really overcame it 5 years ago. I have a lot of compassion for people who are going through their own troubles, because I've been there too. I turned my life around by changing my outlook on life, my mindset, and also loving myself more. I'd love to share my own personal experiences, so that people out there know that they're not alone, that it's not impossible to break free from problems that may cripple them. I want to encourage faith and to know that you can always get back up after you've fallen hard. By showing yourself love, everything around you will change for the better.
I wrote a song called "Love (Like There's No Tomorrow)", which talks about having a love for yourself, and having that love resonate around you. An energy like this is contagious, and once it is passed on, a certain unity is formed between people. I believe as a human race, we are stronger united than we are divided, and this song really talks about coming together and loving like there's no tomorrow. This is what #ShowYourLove is all about.
